The Epsom Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Musical Director Darrell Davison, is delighted to present their concert of classic works by Viennese masters Schubert, Mendelssohn and Brahms.  The highlight of their programme, however, is Beethoven's lyrically beautiful 4th Piano Concerto which will be performed by the outstanding Latvian pianist Antonina Suhanova, who last played with the Orchestra in 2019.

The Brahms St Anthony Variations, based on a theme by Joseph Haydn, opens the concert and is one of the earliest written independent set of variations for orchestra.  While the 'Romantic landscapes of the North' featured in Mendelssohn's Third Symphony bring the concert to a soothing close.  Written during his first visit to Britain, hence it's name the Scottish Symphony, the symphony is said to evoke the picturesque nature of the scenery.  Some excerpts from Schubert's famous Rosamunde complete what is set to be a great programme.
